I just got a new key made 1010 keys ...read my post, just take pictures of your key send em off with payment and get a new square type flip key within a week for under 30 bucks.... or you can pay a locksmith 100 bucks
So I found the master key. I KNEW the LaZBoy chair ate it, it eats everything, but it didn't give it up until I had spent three hours stressing and searching and right before I was going to dig up 6 feet of underground gopher fencing I had put down the day before! Honestly, I stressed and searched so hard that yesterday my body felt like I played a game against a pro football team!!!
Thanks, as always, for your help. I think I'll look into the, oh darn, eternity/forever/perpetual, that key some of you were talking about, plus a very long, thick, plastic chain to put the key on!!!! Thanks
New purchase this month for me, Used car dealer only had the grey valet. Went to the Lexus dealer, was given the story that without a master key, they would have to reseed the ECU at $600 and then they would sell me a master key cut and programmed. Service advisor also said that they could not give me the key code even though I could proof ownership of the vehicle. Went to Home Dept. to cut a spare of the valet, they said they could not because laser cut needed. Went to ACE Hardware, they said it is their policy not to cut a key unless I have the master key. While driving home, I said a locksmith storefront, the person in there said they have a mobile guy, called him and he met me at the shop. I told him that I did not have a master key or the key code, he said no problem. He removed the driver's side door lock and took out the cylinder and showed me the key code. He made a master key, programmed it and I heard the car alarm for the first time since I purchased the vehicle. He also cut another key for me that I had purchased from Ebay. All for just under $200.
After reading countless threads on keys and replacing, it not that expensive, 1 screw to remove the driver door lock. Not waste your money with the nonsense the dealership is telling you about reseed if you don't have a master key and they refuse to give you the key code.
2004 RX 330 was my purchase,

Was the access to the door lock cylinder that easy? I need the key code as have only one wrecked key with dead transponder. RX400H killed by a recovery guy that twisted the ignition over and over waiting for the car to fire up like a normal ICE.
I have just purchased my wife a 2008 RX350. However, the dealer only had one master key. I purchased two keys online then had them cut thinking I could just program them like I did with our 2001 RX300, but have had no luck.
I have searched the Gen 2 site and cannot find a definitive answer if I can self-programmed this key fob... lots of misinformation on Youtube and I have tried several techniques with no success.
Dealer wants $65 to program. Is this really my only option?
Batteries plus programs keys too. Many Autel scanners will or someone with techstream. I see you're in Minnesota, you could post a thread in your local state forum on Club Lexus, maybe someone is near you with a techstream?

Perhaps, but I am looking for the answer to my question. Is there a way to DIY program my RX350 Key Fob like I was able to do for my RX300?
If not, then the dealer will be my only reliable option.
Have you tried the RX300 method?
If it works it would be an awesome discovery.
A while back a member helped me swap my ECU and pair my keys and from what I understand the keys give off a frequency or something that the key transponder accepts or rejects. Also found out when I swapped my ECU I was pairing the ECU to the key transponder amplifier and the transponder amplifier is what holds the key info or something.

Been wondering a long time what make up the parts of this key.
I know there is a:
1) metal key blade
2) Battery powered FOB transmitter for wireless unlock
3) Something that the key transponder recognizes but only when very close like when keys are in ignition- but what is this piece?
And I may be missing something and got this all messed up so if anyone knows plz add...

If someone can figure this out plz let us know and post a "step by step" that works.
I haven't spent much time looking at it but it's technical and needs simplified.
Big disappointment today. After having spent money to have the keys which I purchased from a reputable seller on Ebay, the dealer told my wife they were not programmable. I am a bit skeptical since I had purchased an RX300 Key Fob from this seller which I programmed myself.
I have notified the seller on Ebay to learn whether or not they can disprove the dealer's claim. I find it hard to believe a reputable seller would sell keys that can't be programmed, but we shall find out.
However, it is all mute now, since my wife spent $200 on the replacement before letting me know what was going on.
