Check the PRNDL switch on the transmission.
Could be corrossion in there.
Does the gears match in the intrument panel cluster when shfting thru gears? (signal to cluster gear position info is received from gateway ecu- no direct path from cluster info to shift linkage so linkage adjustments and connector corrosion, etc to switches can matter).

P0705 "...The park/neutral position switch sends a signal to the ECM according to the shift position (P, R, N or D 3*1, or 2*1). The ECM determines that there is a problem with the switch or related parts if in receives more than 1 position signal simultaneously. The ECM will turn on the MIL and store the DTC."
If problem still persists just thinking maybe can something to do with aftermarket remote failure with custom wiring into Neutral Switch or something who knows but need more info/details.

exactly my thoughts. I will need to disassemble car remote starter then go from there.
the light does not illuminate once put into D or if swiped left to 4 position. All other gear points illuminate.... vehicle has always started , never a no start. I thank you and other person for feedback.
