I found the rear diff a bit tricky as the allen bolt wanted to strip wouldn't come out, replaced it with a hex bolt. The transfer case was not easy to get to, had to order a 24mm crowfoot wrench to fit my 3/8 wrench then things worked out now it would be quite easy probably wasn't changed prior but I agree with changing all fluids at least every 100K miles preferably 50K as they are very inexpensive and easy once you've done it, for the diff I used Mobil one, tranny I used Toyota fluid but will probaly use Aisin for another change here shortly as I was to assure that I got all of whatever was in there outta there.I only put maybe 5-6K miles per year, changed every fluid last year want to do the tranny one more time for a flush diffs should be fine. No leaks, runs like a top.

This thread reminds me I need to do another "drain and fill" on my transmission.

I've only done it once or twice, I'm not sure which but all I know is it probably needs it.

My original OEM "filter" was a screen so I replaced it with a Fram filter with a much higher density filter material.

Only problem I see in doing that is the filter is no longer lifetime because it can clog whereas the OEM screen probably never will.

But, a proper filter should do a much better job picking up non ferrous debris, I'm hoping. 🤓

I recommend you put back the mesh filter then install a Magnefine.
