Default Experience with Performance Package

Can any new RX330 owners give some feedback on Performance Package? Is adjustable Air Suspension provding better handling during cornering? Is it worth a buy?

I am trading in my IS300 and thinking it will be my new sporty SUV

Thanks!

I've stated in prior posts that the whole reason I chose the RX330 and more specifically the Performance Package was because I wanted a sport-utility version of my IS - AND I GOT IT! The merits of the air tuned suspension can be debated but I do feel it improves my handling at speeds - that coupled with the AFL headlights, E-Shift and the 18" Polished Graphites (which I've since replaced with chrome) made it the obvious choice for me - plus the dealership was more willing to work a deal on this niche package.

jeffknet: Did you dip your graphites or buy new chrome wheels? If you still have your graphites, will you sell them and for how much?? I can't get graphites let alone 18's in Hawaii...

msilverIS,

too late - already sold 'em to a rather.... uh.... prominent member of this forum... and used that $$ to offset the cost of the chromes - by the time all was said and done it cost me less than $200 / wheel (wheels / shipping / mounting & balancing) - I love your sig file - NEVER satisfied.... so true

sorry about the lack of availability in HI, but hey - at least you don't have to drive 26 hours to see an ocean

Hi Jeff,
Do you have a picture of your graphites wheels? I didn't order performance package but I'm wondering what's the difference to the original alloy wheels. Thanks!

just click the link below and view the RX330 page - the first few pix are chrome - all the rest are the polished graphites - you can also look in my CL members gallery - I took close-ups of the PG's when I was selling them

I really like the polished graphites and they look really great on your vehicles!! I think chrome is too much for me. Jeff, you car looks absoutely cool !!!!!

Anyway, while i am still waiting for my new silver RX w/ Nav arrives in two weeks. Surprisingly other local dealer called and offered me a silver RX with Performance package. This new one will also arrive in two weeks so I am kind of hesitated.... I am not sure if I should drop the first vehicle and go for the performance package. Not to mention I have to deal with the dealers and get my deposit back......

Rock, I would go back and drive both versions again, just to be sure that you'll be making the right decision for you. If you like the performance package enough to justify the added cost, go for it so you'll never look back. Now's the time to be sure, before you sign on the dotted line. You could always give the original dealer where you have money down the chance to match the other dealer's deal, on the car equipped the way you want. When you're spending this kind of money, you don't want to be second-guessing yourself!

Just my 2 cents....

thanks Rock - I think the chromes look best on the darkest colors - and with the chrome grill and chrome emblems it really comes together on my Black Onyx - I think the Polished Graphites look good on the Flint Mica, Breakwater Blue, and Millenium Silver Metallic - even the straight up Alloys are perfect on the lighter colors. Just my opinion..........

We have an AWD Performance with Nav only but it required a special order here in the Midwest. I believe on the East Coast this is a standard package and can be purchased off the lot, but they are in demand so most are spoken for before they even arrive at the dealer. I'm not sure about your situation in California, and suggest that you just call around to see if there are any available or if it will require a special order, which will take approximately 90 days from the date your dealer actually places the order with Lexus.
