Default 04 RX330 Steering Wheel Compatibility

Does anyone know if 2008 RX350 steering wheel would fit to 2004 RX330? The shape/design is exactly the same but I'm not sure about internals and connectors. I need this swap mainly for right-hand side switch buttons that exists on later RX350 models, but my 04 RX330 doesn't have them. In ebay they sell only the buttons almost the same price as the wheel itself, thinking of getting the wheel as it's also in better shape than mine.

They are essentially the same car so I can't see why not. If its not too expensive I'd take a chance.

If you want to play it safe:

Parts dot com has exploded views of certain assemblies. see this example I'd start there and compare part numbers.

Good luck.

Great thanks! The wheel (with buttons) is around $90 while the buttons are being sold for $77 I checked the link and couple more sources, looks like the wheels are the same. I'll give a try and update with results.

Ordered and installed the 2008 RX350 wheel with right-hand side buttons, fit with no issues.
It indeed is the exact same wheel. The extra buttons now help with phone calls/answers through the aftermarket head unit, plus a button to invoke siri or google assistant (depending on phone connected). This is very handy now, the level of comfort increased.

Quick question, I have a 2009 RX350 without the right sided buttons and wanted to know if I could add the feature by just adding the button panel or would I have to replace the entire wheel…..also, are the necessary plugs/connectors already there or would I have to modify the wiring?

You can add the button panel without changing the wheel. It just unscrews and unclips. You can also change the LEDs behind the buttons they are 1206 type 3v.

The connector is already there but is unused.

Thnx for the reply @MattRX , I’m off now to try and locate a right sided panel now. I will also be installing an upgraded Tesla style head unit soon and would love to have the function of those buttons.

Back again with another question…in my search I’m unable to find the right steering panel for the 04-09 RX330/350 in my color but I did see a set (L+R) from a 2007 RX400H, do u know if they are the same part or is the part from the hybrid different? I also found sets from both a 2006 Solara and a 2006 ES330 that look similar, although the ES330 set has bigger buttons but the bolt up from the pics look the same.

The 400h has a different part no. but all I can discern from it is that the 400h has a DISP button on the wheel. Other than that, fitment and the wheel itself is the same, as is the clockspring and its wiring.

Can confirm these buttons work. I installed them onto my friend's 2007 RX today and they are 100% pre-wired. They light up too! Perfect time to add an OEM or knock-off light up CC switch, as the assembly is easy to solder outside of the car.
