Dash replacement - owner must take next step
After receiving the first letter regarding replacement of the dash about six months ago, I didn't hear from Lexus again. I asked at the dealer, and the owner has to request the next step which is for the dealer to take a picture of the dash and send it to Lexus. This was news to me.

I agree with the owner having to be proactive. However, for me, I literally went in on Saturday to document that we have an issue and the service advisor just added me to the list to get it replaced. He said they get one new dash of each color every week and that is it. So when my number is called I can come in and get it done. Pretty simple and I am actually surprised they wren't trying to weasel out of it as I was ready for a fight. .

I started this process months ago with a visit to my dealer after receiving the first letter. They agreed to replace my dash and it was completed a few weeks ago. Stay on them, and the sooner the better as it appears they are going on a first come first replaced system.

No rattles or squeaks that I've heard and I would notice that.
Good luck!

Could you try another dealer if you have one remotely near you? Even if it's a longer drive maybe the timeframe would be smaller? 300 dashes will take a long time to repair, I'd think years unless they really ramp up their receipt of replacement dashes.

I received a letter from Lexus about the dash last week. To be honest I had never noticed anything wrong with my dash, but as I currently own a 2004 I went out to look it over more carefully. Upon a close inspection I noticed a fine hairline crack over the passenger side airbag. Beyond that the dash still looks brand new and in great condition. I figured it wouldn't hurt to drive into the dealer to see what they would say. I had barely stepped out of my car when a serviceman walked over to help me. Within 30 seconds he had looked at the dash and approved me for a replacement. He said the new dash will be in next week and they will offer me a complimentary loaner car for the 2 days it takes to replace.
Absolutely love Lexus for this. Offering to replace an issue I had never even noticed. Couldn't be more happy.

Lexus of Austin
2005 RX330. Never received second letter. Went ahead and made appointment with service department at Lexus of Austin last week. They took photos of my dash (has 4 hairline cracks - one around ignition, one along right side of console, one above glove box and one by left AC vent). Said they would order dash and call me when it was in, but could be several months. Will be able to use a loaner while dash is installed. No hassles. In and out in less than 15 minutes. Now just waiting for dash to arrive at dealership. So far, so good.

Additionally I would call Lexus Support. I have had very good experiences speaking with them over the phone. This is the phone number I've used in the past. After a few options I was able to reach someone helpful. Lexus Support: 1-800-255-3987
