Default Yellow Side View mirrors

Hello,
Both my side view mirrors have turned yellow and stay there. The rear view mirror is working normal. I find it hard to believe both mirrors went bad at the same time. Any suggestings?
Thanks

Welcome to Club Lexus donhrec. I suspect a defect in the auto dimming feature. I have seen it described has a bronze discoloration. I would still have the Lexus dealership look it. That way you would know the true problem and what needs to be done. The CL thread link below describes the mirror problem I am talking about..

It is likely an issue with your rearview mirror inside the car. The inside mirror controls the outside mirrors by telling them when to change colors to compensate for light shining in through the back window. It could also do the same thing if you somehow blocked one of the light sensors on the mirror with tint or a radar detector or something. There is one sensor on the front side of the mirror next to the power button and there is a sensor on the back side of the mirror facing the windshield. If you need to buy a new mirror, you can find them on eBay for about $50 bucks.

Thanks Guys, I will have my Lexus dealer check it out. There is nothing blocking the sensor on the rear view mirror.

Before you pay the dealer to look at it...unplug the harness that plugs into the back of the rearview mirror on the windshield. The mirrors should turn to normal color. If they don't turn normal then that will rule out the mirror. At that point it could be the computers inside each door or the mirrors themselves....But that would be odd since they both turned color at the same time.

Jake, Thanks, I don't see how to disconnect the wires to the rear view mirror. Can you tell me how?

It just plugs in with a harness. You just squeeze the clip on the harness to unlock it and pull. It plugs in on the drivers side of the mirror so moving it toward the passenger side should give you more room to see. It may even be helpful to look at the wire harness through the windshield first so that you can see what you need to do.
