Default Auto Dimming Mirrors

Am I correct or I am wrong. I have a 2002 IS300. The manual did say STANDARD PACKAGE:
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror w/COMPASS and Driver's Side Mirror. I verified my driver's side mirror by rolling down the window and check with oncoming traffic from behind and see if the mirror does dim or change a tad bit of green in it.

It didn't do it. I went to the Lexus Dealer and say it's not included in your package if it doesn't. They claim maybe I don't have it.

Can you verified with your own VIN number from another dealer that does?

SUGGESTIONS anyone?

PS: I have bottom half mirrored and top half smoke tint on my windows except for the rear. Does that affect the electrochomatic mechanism in my mirrors?

From what I've read in similar posts, the outside mirrors on most Lexus vehicles so equipped dim to a smoke tint, rather than green, and do not darken as dramatically as the inside rearview mirror. Try putting your thumb in front of the forward-looking light sensor on the back of your rearview mirror during the day. This will trick your mirror into thinking it's night and that there are bright lights behind the car. You should notice the inside rearview mirror getting quite green, and it would be easier to notice any smoking of the side mirror. Good luck.
