I have the OEM bracket new in the bag and it came with 2 large screws which attach the license plate to the bracket. I see where there are 2 dimples on the front bumper of the truck, and they line up with the holes in the bracket.
What type of screw do you suggest for attaching the bracket to the bumper? It doesn't appear I will be able to put a nuts or anything on the other side to hold the screw into the bumper.

I took the front plate off. This is what the backing bracket should look like.

 

That's what I have, just wondering about the black screws that are still holding yours onto the bumper. I'll check out the local auto parts place when I'm out next.

 

My ES came with long bolts too. I went to the hardware dept at Menards and picked up two shorter 6mm stainless steel bolts that dont hit the bumper. The cost was less than $1 as I recall.

 

Those 10 mm bolts in the picture are just screwed into the metal behind the plastic. They are about an inch long.
