Default How to change the rear bumper reflective lense?

I recently got into a small accident, where another car hit my rear passenger side bumper and cracked the rear bumper red reflective corner lense. I attempted to take the cracked lense off but i only found one bolt bolting the lense down to the bumper.

I was unable to take off the lense even with the bolt off and it seemed like there was not enough room in the bumper to take the lense off.

It seems like i may have to take off the entire rear bumper to replace my lense but before i do this is there a way to take off the lense without taking off the bumper? I dont understand wy lexus would make it difficult to change a lense off the rx330, especially a reflective lense.

also could anyone recommend a website that may sell cheap passenger side rear bumper reflector lenses, or even a site that sells clear rear bumper reflective lenses *if there are any for the rx330).

thanks for your help

I replaced mine about a year ago after my son cracked it. I was able to wrestle it out without removing the bumper. It was tight but doable. I bought my lense from the dealer, it was around $80, if I remember correctly.

Default Replacing rear bumper corner reflector

I have a cracked reflector and got a quote few months ago from the dealership about replacing this reflector piece and they wanted over $200+labor.

I was wondering does it require the bumper to be removed to replace it? If it's easy I want to buy it online from US and then install it myself.

Thanks.

From the looks of it, the bumper needs to come off.
I think it is screwed in from inside the bumper.

The bumper has lots of clearance space from below. I bet that, if you lie down and look up under the bumper, you will see the reflector and any screws or bolts or nuts holding it, if such exist. It's worth a try...

I did it on my wife's car, no cover removal needed. I bought the light assembly online for around $80. Took me 10 min to replace. Do some search, this subject has beed discussed few times.

I replaced a rear reflector bulb which was easy to do but I didn't notice how the reflector assembly itself was attached to the bumper.

Yes...The bumper has to come off to replace the reflector. There isn't enough room with the bumper on to pull the reflector out with the bumper on. It sounds much harder than it actually is...If you are at all handy, it is pretty easy.

I replaced the reflector on a neighbors 2004 RX330 without removing the bumper. IIRC, I did have to remove one clip for the bumper cover to get the needed clearance for removal of the reflector.

This is the right approach. Be careful in not bending the bumper too much.

My rear bumper reflector broke and I have to replace it. I have not done this before. Is there any work instructions/video available?

Please advise.

Thanks!

Can you share where the clip is located that needs tobe removed and if any bumper screws needs to be removed. I also have a cracked reflector to replace. I also bought a reflector from EBay but haven't figured out how to install
