Hi All,

Brand new!!! Today literally cracked the first layer of the reflector light (the one on the lower driver bumper). How much is it to replace and can I do it myself? Have a 2004 RX330. Where can I get the part for a decent price and are there any videos on how to replace it?

Ok, ran into a dang fence and need to replace this sucker right here.
Ordered the part off amazon, 55$.
Didn't want to take off the whole bumper, so...I didn't. Be careful and go slow, don't put too much force on the bumper once you're under the car.
20 minute job, tops.

TOOLS
-Flat head screwdriver
-Phillips head screwdriver
-10 mm socket
-ratchet
-3" extension
-needle nose pliers
-2" extension
-replacement reflector

Step 1:
Admire your stupidity.

Cracked rear passenger reflector.


Step 2:
Remove this screw.
-Use your 10mm socket and ratchet.

Step 3:
Remove this screw.
-Gently pry the bumper from the mudflap using a flathead screwdriver.
-Remove the screw (not pictured, pictured is just the hole) using 10 mm socket, 3" extension, and ratchet.

Step 4:
Remove this screw.
-Use your phillips head screwdriver.
-Once screw is removed, gently wiggle the bumper to unhook the tabs from the body.

Step 5:
Unhook pigtail.
-Use your needle nose pliers. If the part looks like it hasn't been touched since the factory, don't apply too much pressure or the plastic will crack. Mine was pretty crispy.

Step 6:
Remove this bolt.
-Use 10 mm, 2" extension, and ratchet.
**This was a little tricky. I have a long ratchet and a short ratchet, had to switch to the short one to have some play.**

Step 7:
Pull light out from bumper.

Step 8:
Put new light in, make sure it's lined up, and secure with bolt from STEP 6.

Step 9:
Attach pigtail to new reflector.

Step 10:
-Pop bumper back into place with the bumper tabs.
-Replace phillips head screw from STEP 4.
-Replace 10 mm bolt from STEP 3.
-Replace 10 mm bolt from STEP 2.

Success. Bumper still needs to be replaced entirely but that's for another day.

I backed into a car a couple years ago and had to replace mine as well, not such a bad job. I actually did mine by just reaching up there blindly and finding the bolt and wire harness with my hand. I used a universal joint on the socket extension to reach the bolt. So I really enjoyed your pictures of what it looks like in there so thank you for that.

 

I removed the rear bumper before to repair a rust spot. It's really not that bad at all. You just need to make sure you remove every bolt, there are quite a few of them in places you wouldn't expect. Look for a DIY or the blow out diagram where all the bolts go in.
