Default OBDII Phone Apps

Has anyone tried any OBDII phone apps? I assume that you would need an adapter/interface cable too. Which ones are favored?

ELM 327, bluetooth if you have an Android device and WiFI if you have iOS.

Android apps are better, IMO. Carista is a supporting vendor here at CL for your software needs.

I'm using Dash Command. Pretty satisfied, though used this one, so can't compare.

+1. It works nicely on my Android phone connected with the ELM327 bluetooth adapter.
And it's good to have the rev counter, which is otherwise missing on the 400h.
But I found that some parameters which in theory the app can handle (like for instance the engine load and the oil temperature - both for engine and transmission) are not displayed. Did anyone else experience that?

Will the OBDII let you know which tire is low, instead of having to check each one to see if it's under pressure.

No, not enough information is transmitted by the sensors even on the newer versions in the RX with proper TPMS.

Does your vehicle support OBDII? Depending on the market there are other diagnostics used. For example, the EU has its own vehicle diagnostics requirements. If your vehicle does not support OBDII and your ELM327 device only supports OBDII, then they will not talk with each other.
