I just bought a 2004 rx330. While test driving it, the mirrors moved up and down side to side just fine. When I got it home they stopped working completely. I've read other posts, but have not seen any where the mirror stops working completely. If anyone knows what the problem is, I'd really appreciate it
Make sure the switch is pressed left or right before pressing the directional buttons. You have to have the L OR R pressed down then try moving the direction.
When the switch is in the middle position, the mirrors also will not rotate down while in reverse...just in case that is what behavior you are noticing. Thought ours were broken the first time I didn't see the mirrors moving...

This is exact happened to my 2005 RX330 couple weeks ago, as of now my driver side mirror only working when the weather is cool like early in the morning or late in the afternoon, if it's sit on the hot sun the mirror won't work I called Lexus dealership and addressed the problem and they told me I have to get the vehicle in the shop.
Could be the motor or just a simple fix, I bring my in this Saturday to find out.
I moved the switch to the left and to the right and neither mirror will work
Try giving the mirrors a bit of a hand. Press gently against one corner of the glass until you hear a click and feel the mirror move. Do this with each mirror. Next, try using the controls. Do they move or if not do you hear the motor trying to move the mirrors? You may need to have the windows down to be able to listen for the mirror motors.
We inherited our 04. When I first went to set the mirrors they would move up and down but not left or right. We were told the mirrors had worked up to that point...not sure but anyway it turned out to be an actuator that needed replacing on both mirrors. $500 at a local shop, $1300 the dealer quoted me.
There is a service bulletin on this, Lexus knew it was a problem but we were outside the warranty period.
