Default Drivers Mirror Replacement / Green Ooze help

Hi everyone,

Sad to see that someone hit my drivers side rear view mirror overnight, breaking the mirror and sending the green ooze/fluid all over my door.

1) Anyone have experience removing the green fluid off your paint? I've tried Goo Gone all morning with no success.

2) Best place for a replacement mirror? I've searched ebay, but I've also looked into replacement mirror, and not the whole unit itself.

Again any help is appreciated here.

Thanks!

Would this not be covered under the comprehensive of your auto insurance? You may also need the door repainted. See postings below:

Thanks for your help. It looks like the green ooze/fluid is in fact the auto-dimming liquid. And the best solution to get the stains from your paint may be Turtle Wax compound (which I'll try today).

A little frustrated about this whole situation, but I hope the guy who hit me gets the Karma 10 fold.

I'm seriously considering just buying the mirror portion temporarily until I figure out a long term solution (http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-09-Lexus-Rx-330-350-400H-Left-Driver-Mirror-Glass-Auto-Dimming-Fit-Over-Opt-/190829374592?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6e512c80&vxp=mtr).

Any other help for getting the stain out would be appreciated.

Thanks!

the stain is acid from the inside of the mirror, it might be able to be buffed by a professional auto body shop, but please stop with the goo gone, it is eating through your clearcoat, and further damaging something that cannot be reomoved, the acid has permanently changed the clearcoat and paint.

Just a quick update here Meguiars compound did the trick to remove the stains. 1 layers of the compound, rub it in and buff it out. The stains disappeared overnight!
