the driver's side mirror glass is all cracked, there's a scuff on the painted part, and then the triangular part where it mounts to the a pillar is damaged.

is it possible to replace just the glass for the mirror, I am debating calling the insurance or just replacing the mirror or the glass myself.

^ yeah.. try ebay. i was able to find one for $50.. used but in perfect condition OEM glass with a backing plate to plug in wires, and installation was pretty simple.. dealer was asking more than $500 for a mirror alone..

 

I was side swiped by a motorcycle in LA; almost ripped mirror off the car and small scratch on drivers door. I went through insurance; no issue with hurting insurance rating and with $100 deductible the worst part was 3 days w/o my baby. Total cost; $1100 which included complete detail. I agree w/previous post; you can do it yourself, but finding a mirror in my color (used) just was not going to happen. good luck....I feel you pain
