Thumbs up Hello All

Just a quick post to introduce myself as a new member - from Northern Ireland.

Have been running a 2004 RX300 SE since last November, Bought in anticipation of bad winter weather which never materialised, I’m so impressed with the truck I'll keep it for the foreseeable future.

I've found the Forum very useful up to the moment - especially as I intend to change the rear discs and pads over the coming days and do a transmission oil change in the near future.

Well done to all concerned in what is a very practical and helpful Forum.

Cheers for now.

Welcome to the Club.

For those that are not aware, the 2004 RX300SE is a second gen RX aesthetically, but retains the 1MZFE engine found in the 1st gen RX (RX300).

That is very interesting. I have never heard of a RX300SE Model. I guess that model only sold in the UK and Europe? The OP is from Northern Ireland.

I wasn't aware that it had the same drivetrain, I always thought it was just a RX330 just named differently than in the U.S.

To add some information to that already given, the 2nd generation 300SE and variants were available in UK from 2003 and they did indeed retain the 1MZ 3 litre engine but had the revised 5 speed transmission fitted.

As far as I can see this iteration of the RX was released in the United States as the RX330. This was broadly similar to the UK vehicle except for the larger engine and some other country-specific additions.

The RX300 engine was a proven one. And you have the updated tranny, in which case was probably best.
