2006 RX330 and bluetooth
Help!
I recently bought a used 2006 RX330 and the bluetooth connection with my T-Mobile Gravity phone is very sporadic. I can't seem to get a straight answer out of the dealership on how to resolve it. I figure that if it works once, it should work all the time, right?
Any ideas?
Thanks.

According to http://lexusbluetooth.letstalk.com , the T-Mobile Samsung Gravity appears to incompatible with the 2006 RX330 Bluetooth system. As a line, Samsung phones seem to have far less compatability with Lexus Bluetooth that other phone brands with Blackberry uniformly being the most compatible brand.
The iPhone was introduced January 9, 2007. The subject of this thread is the 2006 RX330 which was introduced in fall 2005 and manufactured until summer 2006. If you check later Lexus model years, the iPhone will be listed although it originally had very little compatibility with Lexus Bluetooth.
I can't tell you that. Maybe working "sometimes" wasn't enough for the Gravity to be labeled compatible. I once linked my old non-phone Dell PDA to the Bluetooth in an Infinity M35 we rented on vacation. Shouldn't have linked but it did ... but it did do anything of value either.
Keep in mind that there are different revisions of Bluetooth.

Not all the versions play well with each other and the older versions didn't even work well with others of the same. Kind of a hit or miss proposition.
Then, if you do get a connection the devices need to know how to converse with each other and transmit data the other understands. Some of the phone OS store their contact data in proprietary formats. If you have to install the company's software to access the phone from your computer this is a good indication of this condition.
How much testing Lexus even does is probably limited, using only the cell phones available at the time that model year was released. Once out of the gate Lexus probably just moves on feeling their work is done.

I have a Sprint Samsung M330 that I had purchased shortly after I purchased my 2010 RX350 in July of last year. I am constantly losing my blutetooth connection with this phone. I have to literally turn off the car, turn off the phone and restart the car and the phone, and then my bluetooth connection comes back on. I've even had the visibility on my phone change to "Hide" without me touching anything. It's a little frustrating, but I hate to change phones again.
Wmindel,
I'm in the same situation, have had my used '06 RX330 about 1 month and bluetooth was working fine with LG VX-8360 until a couple of days ago. Now shows that I'm connected and appears to be working but no audio (radio audio turns off but bluetooth now defaults to 'mute on' which it wasn't doing before. When I turn mute off, still no phone audio). I'm still fiddling/investigating, will advise if I make any discoveries!

I was able to get my bluetooth working by doing a phone 'battery reset' (removing the phone battery, waiting ~30 seconds, reinstall battery, restart phone). Note that this is different than just turning the phone off and back on. So far so good!
