My wife and I recently bought aour 2008 RX350 Touring edition and I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the Touring edition is compared to others. Is it just a badge or was it an option package?

I dont think there is such thing...

the RX only have 1 edition, and that was the Pebble Beach Edition. What does your badge look like?

 

There was also the Coach Edition but I haven't heard of the Touring Edition unless it's a Canadian thing.

I also bought a 2008 touring edition last year, it the second or third from the top line. The funny thing is I bought it from Lexus of oakville, the same of the link posted.

With back up, leather, 18" alloy, Bluetooth and moonroof I don't think there is anything else.

No xenon
No USB port
No aux port

But the all mighty cassette player is there!

I suspected Canada...but I saw that the OP lives in Montana...

 

From what I can tell, ours has the Premium package with heated seats, rain sensing wipers, power moon roof and power liftgate. It is not equiped with xenon headlights. I just wasn't sure if the "Touring" edition had something that I didn't know about. Unfortunately, we bought it from a Nissan dealer where it was traded in and they don't know that much about Lexus specific details. I forgot to ask at the Lexus dealer in Calgary the other day when I was getting my headlight replaced and a rattle fixed.

Did your head light have moisture build up as well or some other reason and the rattle from where back or front?

I tried getting my driver head light replaced but when I got to the dealer several weeks later it was gone.

Was is replaced under Lexus warranty?

Moisture was condensing inside the driver's side headlight on my 2005 RX330; I only discovered it the first misty day after I purchased it as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. Dealer replaced it under warranty after my complaint, I think Lexus USA paid for it, it was no charge to me. You can take it to another dealer if under warranty but be prepared to be a little persistant; it's a known problem and there is a service bulletin on it I believe. I had a mysterious rattle too; turned out to be a plastic cover beneath the car under the left rear passenger seat. Dealer cut the lip off it and problem solved. There's a long thread on rattle problems here, just do a search.

 

Ours was covered under the standard warranty. Fortunately, it was cold enough outside that the problem was obvious when we got there. Also, they had a headlight in stock for another customer but since we were from out of town they installed it on ours and reordered for the other guy. The rattle was also fixed.
