i'm guessing since they made HIDs optional, dropped the rims to 17", and made leather an option, that they're looking to price this a bit more competitively as a base model.
of course, not getting HIDs and leather on a luxury car would be bombastic and i doubt they sell many cars in this config.

My guess is that they're just bringing the 400h equipment in line with the rest of the RX series. The base RX330 (and I believe the 350) had cloth interior and 17" wheels. I've seen a lot of 330's and never seen a base model. All of the ones here in Arizona have option packages that at least contain the leather and 18" wheels. Early 400h's had everything standard including Nav, but they now show up on the window sticker as options. As far as I know, all 400h's have Nav and leather.

so i take they didn't upgrade the engine on the 2007 400h model? like them did with 330 to 350?
based on the info it seems like it is the same as RX 350, instead a hybrid. as far as i can tell there is no cloth seats available on any of the RX330, 350 or 400.
considered the 2007 400h lucky, at least u get a new badge. RX350 get nothing on appearance wise except for a 3 to a 5.

Anyone have pics of the new 400h badging and the "Hybrid" badging? Do we honestly need "hybrid" badging all over the car like you'd see on a Highlander?
I think the base models will rarely be built. It's probably just a gimmick to bring the price lower to make it look better on paper, IMHO.

yeah, a ploy to put on the commercials "starting at $39,995*"
check this Japan's version of RX400h (Harrier Hybrid). It is using SmartKey.
Click "Front View" button -> far buttom right square.

I wonder if 07 RX400h is using SmartKey.
