The "Tire Inflation" light is on and does not go off even after the local mechanic inflated the tires with the correct pressure. Anyone know what to do without going back to Lexus?
The 2004 RX doesn't actually monitor the tire pressure. Instead, it looks at the rotation speed of the wheels. If it senses a wheel spinning faster than the rest it thinks you have low tire pressure. If all four tires have the same pressure and you have not changed the tire sizes then you probably have a sensor problem and Lexus will need to replace it.
Yes, I am Willie330. I have used this ID for the last 10 years and have many websites that accept this in order for me to enter. I don't even know the reason I picked the number(have never had a Lexus before this year- a 2009 RX350). Have been a Jeep Grand Cherokee owner in the past. Just to many websites with that ID to change now.
Thanks for the responses to my predicament. Seems like alot of Lexus owners have the same problem. With all tires(including spare) at the correct pressure it appears that I will either ride with the light for awhile or go to the Lexus dealer. Again, if anyone has another suggestion, let me know!!
I have read the threads about resetting the system including buttons in or around the glove compartment and the steering column. I have not been able to find anything about that in my manual! Again I have a 2009 RX 350 which is not the same as some of the older models. If I am missing something let me know. Thanks.
