How To Change Headlight Bulbs Lowbeam D2S And High Beam Halogen
I cant for the life of me figure out how to change the headlight bulbs on my rx400h. I have bought a couple of D2S bulbs that I want to change. I think the stock ones are 4300k colour temperature. I just boughts 6000k ones from ebay that I want to install. I also wanted to get the high beam ones changed as well so its a similar color to my 6000k D2S bulbs. Any ideas on what I should get for the high beams to be the same colour?
What I do want to find out is how to change the bulbs. There is hardly enough room to slide my hand in to take out the connections. I dont know which connections to take out either. Anyone have a step by step guide pleasE?
The manual says to take it to Lexus and they will do it for you. I aint paying their stupid prices. A pictorial step by step would help as well. Many thanks.

High beams are easy as opening the hood, twist and pull out as far as I know. If your trying to put HID's in the high beams with my 330 you have to do some customizing so there is no blinking on the voltage from one setting to the next for day and night. The 4300k HID OEM Low Beam I am sure has been done. I Just would not want to mess around in there since there are so many parts in that area as well as back up bulbs for if the HID's die I believe.

There has been debate over 4300k vs 6000k and I think I will like the 6000k better as its got a bluish tint. According to figures 6000k produces light thats only 10% less than 4300k. I beleive thats negligible.
Any ideas on the replacement? Has anyone attempted this themselves?

Just look around the area behind the headlights and see what you can move out of the way to help you fit your hands. On the right side, when I replaced the high beams, I removed the washer container neck (one screw) as well as the large plastic cover held on by push pin locks.
On the Left side I think you have to remove the battery for the low beams but my hands were able to replace the signal, parking, and high beams without removing anything.
I also don't think you'll need HID in the high beams as you will never really have them on for very long (not unless you need it at night due to fog or for whatever reason). Even at that, having HID as a DRL is probably not a good idea without the proper relays.
