Default High beam and wedge bulbs replacement question!!

I noticed yesterday that my wedge bulbs are out in my 01 GS430. I took a look at them and they are black. I noticed that they are not working when my headlights are on at night. Also wanted to change my high beam bulbs from ugly yellow to something nice to match my HID. Both bulbs are located in the small headlight as you understand, and seem to be very easy to fix if they are out.. Can you tell me what size bulbs are they and where I can get same voltage bulbs as OEM but nice blue color to match HID..

the high beam bulb is i think 9005 and the wedge bulb is 194...for the high beam bulb...supposely the mtec cosmos blue blub is the closest to hid...and for the wedge bulb..here is the link https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=127769

I use the Silverstar 9005's for the high beams and Polarg m4's for the wedge bulbs. Polarg uses their own numbers to identify the bulbs and the M4 is the equivalent to the 194.

I have the mtec cosmos 9006 in my yellow fogs and its a huge difference...the yellow pops so much better. i just got some led wedge bulbs from japan. 12 pin. haven't seen them at night yet but they're mad bright...i think they'll probably be too blue for the oem hid. only cost 10 bucks...i have the j51s in right now...not worth the doe.

So what is the best match for the stock HID's as far as wedge and high beam bulbs. As I see here and I read a thread that thanhvu posted, most people go with Polarg M4's for wedge and Sylvania Silverstar 9005's for high beams, would that match the HID's close enough, also what is the color of the stock HID's 4500k or different?

Okay, I don't understand. BOTH the license plate lights AND the daylight driving light / low-beam ( i dunno what to call it, the little inner front lights, out of which high beams come out also) are both 194 bulbs. And a Polarg M4 bulb like this one from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/POLAR...80941114QQrdZ1
will fit BOTH the front daylight driving lights AND the license plate lights ??

Thank you.

yes mike, you got it right. high beam wedge bulbs/license plate lights are 194 size. so are a lot of your door interior lights and side markers.

Those bulbs can be used to replace the license plate bulbs and the small (wedge) bulbs next to your high beam bulbs. The DRL are actually the high beam bulbs at less power.

They're a 4300K temperature rating, I wouldnt go looking for lights based on that though because one companies 4300K may look different then the competition. Also most temps will come in steps from

3500K
4300K
6000K
8000K
10000K
12000K

If they;re rated 4300 K then that's good, since my HIDs are 4300 K, so it will probably match. Could someone post pics of their daylight running lights and license plate lights but only of the Polarg M4's ? Does it look pure white or a bit bluish?

I just put in the Polarg M4's for my wedge lights yesterday and they are a close match in color to the HID's. I had some cheap 4 dollar ones from pep boys and they were too blue, I returned them yesterday when my M4's came in the mail from ebay(cost 8 bucks shipped) and they look sooo much better than the dinky yellow ones.

I don't even use the wedge bulbs, personally i think they look dumb and don't do jack. I had the M4's for a while but i took them out and leave them in the glove box for when i get pulled over for not having them in or have inspection.
