Default Diving with Lexus

Anyone has any experience diving with Lexus RX? We had an extreme rain yesterday ( see pictures at http://www.15min.lt/gallery/show/Liu...u-akimis-11583 ), and the only way to get home was "diving".

Water level was 15-20 inches, but RX350 did it without any troubles (however, it felt like driving a boat floating on water). No water inside, no warning lights or engine issues.

Anyhow, I want to know if there are any special things I need to take care of now. If so, what should be done?

Well it is truly diving. Raise it up and go look on the underside and just basically check it out.

Our cars were designed for such an event. However we really do not know if there is something specific that we need to check on.

Just check it out and post pics if you find something strange or different from ordinary.

I used the car all day long today, nothing seems to be wrong at this time.

whenever a rainstorm in NJ all i do is press the lexus boat transform button and it would glide on water.
this is an optional mod, contact your dealer if you want it.

and when you turn it on please make sure you are going at lease 150 k/mh

In my RX300 we had serious rain and flooding when I came back from Tae Kwon Do yesterday and I went through big puddles. In fact, I had the AC on and the AC light started to blink and hot air came out of the vents instead of cooler air and I realized that having gone through this deep 'puddle' that the the accessory belts had been squealing from being wet.

I dealt with this issue in Mexico City, where flooding is a big problem, and never had an issue there with electrical or other things (like rust).

wr332, I'm sorry to hear that your dealer didn't offer more mods for you (or they were priced too much???). You should contact your dealer and ask him why oh why you got this cheap mod when you could get your Lexus transformed into a submarine for extra fee.

Yes, on my RX300 I used to have the A/C light blink after long deep puddles. I don't think it indicated any belt slippage. All you need to do is press the A/C button 'off' and then back 'on' and all functions normally. I always though it was a sensor-triggered disconnect of some sort, but without much negative effect since it would come back on immediately when you pressed the A/C button.

It depends, in my case I knew because of the puddle I was in and hearing the squealing and immediately saw the light blinking. On other occasions it can be a relay (that's the normal culprit) or even low freon.

It came back on after I got out of the puddle.

It's really bad in Lithuania. Is it because of river?

No, the most funny thing it's because of rain ONLY. There isn't a river in my area...

The yearly average isn't high, it's about 3 inches
