i just ordered some MAAS MOD 22" wheels and 265/35/22 tires. lots of guys are running these so my question is how do i make them fit? they are hitting the strut tower and the plastic on each side of the fender corners
do i need spacers? new offset on the wheels? smaller wheels?
and to think i was going to get some 24'" wheels originally
Hey Frankr66, I'm only basing this off of your story since you didn't provide any offsets and such. But, if your hitting the strut tower and the sides. The only possible explanations is the tire profile and your offset. If you have something that is greater than +30 on a 8.5+ width you most definitely hit the sides. And hitting the struts would be your tire profile. For a wider rim you will need a lesser amount of number on your offsets. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Wow, lot of people want to help, but you're not providing the information needed to help you. Do you know what the offsets are? Can you provide the widths of the rims?
If not, just get new rims because we can't help you without that information.
Knowing the width and offset is the key. Without that we can't be much help. While I ran 20" rims only, my 20x8.5" rims had an offset of +20 front and rear. I had zero rubbing, was lowered with Eibach springs, but I was very close to the rear strut. With my same rims, if I had an offset of maybe +35- +40 I may have hit the strut as well. Front had lots of room to spare.
Anyway, the fact that you are rubbing the strut meas your offset is either too high, the rims are too wide, or both.
thanks for the responses guys im sorry but i dont know the width or offset since i ordered them from a company who said they knew what to order for my application.
the manufacturer has shipped me a spacer with different lugs i am going to try tomorrow; it does look like if the wheel was a bit more out from the back it would clear both the strut and inner fender linings since they get closer in the rear. My only concern is having the wheel now sticking our from the fender and not lookign right or tracking correctly.
In the inner barrel of the wheel it should have stickers indicating withd/offsets/date made.
Also you can check behind the spoke and near the hub area to check for #s.
