Default Considering purchasing an 08 RX350

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and am seeking some advice. I am considering a purchase of an 08 RX350 soon and am not sure what price point I should start negotiations at. I have contacted 4 dealers in the South Florida area asking if they have any inventory left of 08's and what prices they are willing to let them go at. So far, 1 dealer has written me back stating that he has a few 08's on his lot with a MSRP between $47,500 - $47,700. I believe that invoice on these are in the low $40's and I have read threads on this forum stating that people are purchasing these below invoice. Those posts were back around March, so I was curious to see if anyone has purchased one recently. The options I want are the Mark Levinson/ Navigation Package, Ipod adaptor, and trailer hitch. I am not sure if these particular options factor into price negotiations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jen

Well I bought my 09 a few months ago and paid $675.00 over invoice and I heard others paying $500.00 over so you figure out what an 08 is worth to you.

Below invoice is common here in CA, where there are a lot of Lexus dealers competing. It may be a different situation where you are located.

How about a used RX350? Everyone is selling them on here!

It's technically a year old once you leave the lot and worth 7-8k less right away - I did a little dealing on an 08 that had NAV and RSES and the other normal stuff - sticker was almost 49k and they would have let it go for 40 and I decided it was still a better deal to get an 09 for a little over invoice! (and most important, the 09 NAV doesn't have the I Agree button you have to push like the 08 did!). Invoice is in the $3500-4k lower than retail range on most of these.

Good luck (or you can wait until spring then the redesigned 2010 model arrives!

Jenn, love the purple text lol. If can find a 08 with the color and option you want, it should be around $500 below invoice by now. An 09 should be around invoice. Just tell your dealer the re-design 2010 RX is coming out in 6 months and you would have no problem buying the 09 at invoice. BTW people were getting thousand below invoice back in March for the 08 becuase there was a $2800 factory incentive going on, you wouldnt get that price now without the incentive.

Good Luck

Thanks for everyone's input.

I just drove home in a Brand New 2008 Crystal White/ Gray interior rx350. I wasn't planning to purchase so soon, but I think I got a good deal. Checking with kbb.com, I got $1028 off invoice.

The options I got -

- Rear Entertainment System ( I didn't need this, but it already had it)
- Liquid Graphite Spoke Wheels
- Heated Seats w/ rain sensing wipers (Don't need this either in S. Florida, but had it already)
- Towing Prep
- Navigation with Mark Levinson Package
- Cargo Mat
- Wheel Locks
