Default Are rear seats removable?

2005 RX330, the seats can be reclined, and folded, but are they removable?

No. Unless you want to unbolt the entire thing......

they're removable.

Back seats are held on tracks by 4 screws for each seat. Unscrew them and you're done.

not drag racing here, was just wondering since the rear seats can be reclined that thought they might as well be that easy to remove, too-just like in minivans. I do carry some bulky items for the house and extra room may come in handy.

Would have been nice if they were the unlatch-latch kind. Same as the Sequioa....but then again, I do not want to dirty up the RX.

Hey mandyfig.. Not sure if you knew, but latch-type seats are not as safe as bolt-ons. They have tendency to unlatch during collision. That's why you hardly see front seats being latched or even rear ones. Only the third row, which is the least safe, is usually reserved for the latch-type seats.

Yes, you can unbolt the rear seats just like you can unbolt the front seats, but they are not really considered consumer removable. Also, there are more than 4 bolts, but that is just an FYI.

I believe there are 4 for the passenger and 6 for the driver side seat, correct?

There are 4 for the passenger side; I don't recall how many there are for the driver side. I've had both out. It's not difficult, but it is a bit complex: you have to first remove (or at least detach) the front of the cargo area carpet to be able to get to the bolts, and there's a strap that pulls the seat toward the rear when it's folded forward that has to be undone.

Also, be very careful when lifting the seat out: the rail ends aren't smoothed, really, and I scratched the paint inside the rear passenger side door frame with one. It's possible with one person, but an assistant is a big help.

The passenger rear seat does not go back as far as before. Nothing obstructing and if feels like the seat is hitting the stops on the track. Can't fold the seat down cuz it's too far forward. Anybody had this happen?
