Took my beloved 07 RX350 in to the dealer for routine service. Asked them to quote me the price of a new windshield due to the 8" long crack that I got in the passenger side of mine during a recent trip. Started as a small rock chip that quickly grew to a long crack.

Quoted price was $1750.00

Almost 5% of the cars value?

I understand the difference between cheap parts and the factory stuff, but this is ridiculous.

 

Your insurance should cover windshields...with very low deductible. Check it out.
