04 RX Color Scheme

04 RX Color Scheme
Is it just the 04 Bamboo Pearl that has the trim (right above the chrome strip)on the rear and handles in different color than the body? You guys know what I am talking about? Are all 04's that way? Is that how you can tell the o4's (or 05's) versus the others? Anybody notice this?

I will post pics later. I suspect that the 04's started with the different door handle scheme and then sometime later, transitioned into same color throughout. Certainly the 350's that are Bamboo Color are 1 color. So I am wondering if the 04's are the only ones with this scheme. The other question is that....what other body colors had the door handles in different color....

the first gen RX had diff colors at top and bottom -- you know, the "station wagon look". the new RX starting w/ the 04's were single color throughout the body. there is a chrome trunk lid handle but color coded door handles.
the newest 08 RX facelift changed the door handles to chrome rather than body-colored. the 08's also have a slightly diff grille shape and diff 18" wheels. before the 08, there was really no way of telling the diff on the outside between 04-05-06-07 (other than the 07 and 08 have "350" badges rather than "330")
i think the bamboo pearl may have been playing tricks on you that day. it's so iridescent that it's hard to tell if it's one color or 2 colors. but as far as i know all the RX's have a single color throughout...

they look different to me. the weird thing is i know other people who have owned first year or first model year toyotas or lexii and a lot of times the door handles are slightly off in terms of shades. is your car still under warranty?

The thing is the door handle and the trim in the rear are perfectly the same shade of color....looks intentional to me. Hence I want fellow BP 04 owners to confirm.

Did you have a chance to check your friend's BP out? This is eating me....the fact is my door handles are showing premature paint failure....it is like flaking off.

I have an '04 Bamboo Pearl
and everything is the same color. The color does "flip flop" depending on light and angle, so sometime a panel will look different depending on the angle, etc. But the parts are all painted the same color. Hope this helps.
