I checked my Air Filter this weekend, that is a beaatch (Air Box) to take out and harder to put back. The space is too tight! They are supposed to be clip on springs, but they are bolted, adding to the hardness factor.

As expected the Filter is still relatively clean....but needs to be changed after 5K, which will actually be nsynch with the recommendation.

Has anybody done theirs?

Please delete multiple posts...I do not know what happened. Mandy.

Really depends upon the environement.

If you live in a dustbowl, check every 5 or 10k. IN cleaner environement I would check every 15k.

I replaced mine at 15k...it was pretty dirty. Don't buy the FRAM air filter cause' it doesn't fit right (pretty tight).

Fram air filters are terrible, I would never use them. The Lexus OEM filters are actually pretty good, a bit on the expensive side though. I change my air filter every year no matter what the mileage is.

I bought a bunch of the OEM Denso Filters. That filter is stuck in there tight! The case is also jammed in there tight....not much space to manuever that filter.

If you think the case is tight. Try putting in a FRAM air filter. Oh man! tough too close that case! FRAM didn't do a good job.

Is the air filter housed in that black box right behind the battery? I see both snap-in connectors around the edges and at least one bolt. Is this correct?

Okay, maybe they aren't snaps, but just plastic rectangular shapes to help guide the two halves together?

The plastic shapes is a guide hook that connects the two pieces together....at the other hand there are two bolts.
