Navigation pitfalls..
I just bought blue RX350 a month ago w/ navi/bluetooth, 2wd, 18" wheels. Traded in my 06' Pilot EX-L. I am quite disappointed with Navi in RX..it couldn't find my church few miles away, neither by name nor POI. Not to mention poor and slow voice prompts and recognition capability, especially for bluetooth fxn..it would be lot faster and easier to just pick up the phone and call. Anyone agree?

whoa whoa slow down there big guys
i love my rx330 nav. and ive driven the RX350 newest nav version. there are some tips and tricks you need to learn
NEVER imput the name of a POI or address first.
ALWAYS imput the city FIRST
bluetooth might be due to your phone

unless you have contacts memorized in quick dial, you need at least 6 steps to make a call while driving;
1. push I agree,
2. push off-hook
3. push back arrow on screen to get dial numbers
4. push command for voice recogn.
5. say the numbers (slowly and correctly)
6. then push off-hook AFTER voice promt ends.
I do admit, receiving a call is a cake...
RXSF, I have Cingular SYNC, there is nothing wrong with my bluetooth fxn or connectivity.

I have to agree on the Nav system. I had a $400 tom, tom 300 in my jeep before my lexus 400H, and it puts the Nav. System to shame on the lexus. Out of the box, the tom tom is ready to use by anyone, and I mean anyone in 5 minutes or less. You also have the choice of over 25+ voices and a little bit of humor to add. Very disappointed in the nav system. Motoman
Honda / Acura have the best factory NAV on the market right now, I think its made by Alpine. The best potable NAV on the market right now is the Garmin Nuvi, it has the best reciever on the market and its much better than the Lexus or the Acura NAV. The Garmin is $350 and the Lexus NAV is over $2000. For someone who use the NAV maybe 3 or 4 times a year, its a no brainer, and I can move the Garmin from car to car.
is that what the G man stands for? Garmin? Do you work for them?! haha
the problem with portable navs are that they are ugly. period. Nothing can be said to rebuttle that fact. They stick out of the dash, and they look small and too busy.
as for the lexus nav. It is constantly being rated the easiest, best navigation (in a car) that you can get.

RXSF, obviuosly you are not aware of the EASE of operating Garmin...looks are important but will not as much as functionality. I think Honda/Lexus need to make more user-friendly Navi. One positive note, integrated back-up camera.
