Default Essential Extras?

The only extras i've thought of/asked for is mud guards.

Apart from mud guards is there anything else that is essential i might have missed?

thank you

You might consider that cargo net - if your dealer is feeling particularly generous. Depending on what you carry - like a load of basketballs of soccer *****, it can keep things from rolling out of the hatch when opened. The lip of the hatch is sufficient to retain most thnigs.

Most overlooked item on the options list IMHO is seat heaters. Not only do they remove the chill on winter mornings, reacting much faster than the cabin heater, they are great for motoring around with the windows down on a chilly day. If you are of a certain vintage, they are also awfully nice therapy for a overworked back.

Least useful item on the options list - the headlight washers. As if a little fine mist doesn't mess up the windshield at night, when you pull the washer handle, if the headlights are on you will get the front end of your car hosed with yucky washer fluid. Detailers must love this feature.

Why does Lexus package these two options together?

Not only that, but they're also very good at heating up fast and hot. I've never had mine above about 4 notches from the bottom, and even that was quite toasty.

Gotta disagree here. I was driving home one sloppy evening not long ago, and they made a noticeable improvement in headlight brightness. You're going to get washer fluid on your paint anyway, given the location of the windshield washer nozzles, so the fluid can't be harmful...

Because they're both useful in places where it's cold and snowy?

Also keeps pizza warm on that long drive back home . . . yes, my wife thinks I'm nuts, why?

I have to disagree too, but I love the headlight washers. If you drive where there is a lot of slush on the roads, pushing the washer button doubles the light output!

I guess it is the type of option that is needed by only a certain type of person: those blind as bats (like me) who need all the light they can get!

No, you are sane. Inside every person there is a fast. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...51703649790841

To the OP: I would get the OEM rubber floor mats.

I would recommend the hard-plastic cargo mat and the rear bumper protector. It stops all those annoying scratches etc when loading stuff in and out off the back.
