Anyone know a trick to resetting the maintenance warning light after an oil change. Would a Peak code reader from Autozone or somewhere do the trick or can you jumper a couple connections somewhere?

Don't want to have to take to dealer for a $190 oil change if you know what I mean.

 

hold the trip reset button. .turn ignition on.. read display..

 

You could also search the threads, been covered several times. Quick and easy: Set odometer to total miles, turn off ingnition, hold odo button in while turning on ignition, wait for countdown on odometer reading - presto it's reset.

Didn't mean for response to be snarky. I've had to do the reset myself a few times as it's over 100 miles (one way) to the Lexus dealer and only like 10 to our local Toyota dealer - they don't have a clue on resetting the maintenance light, but they are like $40+ cheaper for an oil change. Of course you don't get your car hand-dried either.....

 

Ah, the famous $100 carwash. Got mine yesterday with my oil change . . . and it rained all the way home . . .

 

You're fortunate. The last two times mine went to the dealer, I had to drive home in snow and slush...my car won't get clean till April or so.

I did what you said (ODO -> LOCK -> hold the trip meter reset button ->Start-> continue hold the button at least 10 seconds), didn't work, the light is still ON.

My car is a 2007 RX350 with Navigation.

Appreciate your advices!

 

Minkel, should work the same whether it’s a 330 or 350. I believe that you need to watch the odometer count down, rather than relying on just waiting 10 seconds or so. Lets go through procedure again;
1.) Make sure odometer shows mileage (not trip A or B) 2.) With odometer showing, shut off ignition. 3.) While pressing the odometer/trip mileage button, turn ignition to ‘ON’. 4.) Hold button in and watch until the odometer reading turns back to straight lines.

This has always worked for me, and I’ve done it several times.

It seems the step 4) in your post is a little tricky...
I have tried several times, step 1) to 3) are exactly as you described.
However, in step 4), it displays ODO reading and never changes..

 

Hmmmm, I was under the impression that the 330 and 350 were the same in that context. My neighbors 350 reset easily with those procedures. I'm guessing at this point you may want to try the owners manual, as there may be a slight difference between the late 330, early 350 and current 350. Otherwise, I'm stumped.
