Default DVD/Nav safety by-pass module RX 350

Hello everyone. I love my fully loaded AWD RX 350. My wife and I travel a lot and would REALLY like to be able to have my wife watch movies in the front seat rather than having her sit in the back to do so. I will not peek, I promise.
Therefore, does anyone have information on how to bypass the safety feature in order to watch movies on the navigation screen while driving? Is it a module? Reprogram the cars computer? Thanks for any help.

dvd's in motion: it requires the cutting of two wires behind the nav unit, and the grounding of one of those two wires.

nav hack: can be completed via a software hack - a sequence of button pushing will allow you to get into a diagnostic menu to override the nav disable. only drawback is that it must be completed each time you wish to enter destinations on the go. there is also a more complex nav hack that requires wire cutting and installation of a switch inside the car. the benefit of the hardwire solution is no button-sequence pushing; just a flip of the switch and you can enter.

i did the dvd hack and use the nav software hack as needed.

P.S. welcome to club lexus !!!

here is a link to some similar instructions in the 400h forum. it is basically the same procedure, however it is important to get the wiring diagram for your 350 since you have a newer nav system and the wire colors will be different...

I had my DVD override done by an audio shop across from the dealer - took less then a hour and only cost me $100. They did a great job, can't tell they even took apart the center console. My wife loves it - she watches videos all the time while in the car. I had to train myself not to look at it - far too dangerous for the driver.
