Time to get 4 new tires on our RX 330. 50K miles & need them before winter for sure.

What would a good replacement tire be?? Where is a good place to get them ??

The best place read reviews on tires is at the Tire Rack, http://www.tirerack.com.
There have been a few threads here lately about best tires for the RX330, since the OEM tires don't seem to last very long. I've only got about 28K on the Goodyear's and they'll definitely need changing before winter.

Default Goodyear

Thanks, looked at Tire Rack & seems like the Goodyear Fortera Triple Tread get very high ratings.

Does Tire Rack ever offer deals??

I think they have sales once in a while like anybody else.
Although Tire Rack is always cheaper than the local tire store, the challenge is that Tire Rack obviously can't install the tires unless you live near one of their locations. They will drop ship to an installer who's willing to work with them - check their site for "Installation" to find such a shop by ZIP code. Some of the installers even post their fees on the site, helping you find out what the set of tires will ultimately cost "out the door".

We are just now going through the same thing.04RX330 AWD michelin mxv4 18's.Tirerack was just a hair cheaper than Sams club for tires (also compared Bj's tire warehouse )but to get them installed was like trying to bring a steak to a restaurant !
I went with the Michelins again as we got 45K on the originals.

Sams installed=$755 (you can take off another 15 if you use their card)
TireRack 692plus install @ 88 and very reluctant to do it.
Tire warehouse=828 installed
the dealer wanted 975 !!!!!
don't mind a bit more but 225 its worth a trip down the road.

Default Michelon

Just got a quote on 4 Michelon Energy LX4 225/65/R17 for $660 installed & balanced. Taxes extra of course.

That is what was on from the factory. Was thinking of going to a Goodyear tire. Any suggestions or is this too good a price to past up??

Those are 110 each for the 17's+installation @9.00 per so that not that good a deal at all.Michelin also has a $50.00 rebate on 4 till end of July, you can download the form (very small boxs to fill out) on the Michelin site. The Goodyears are cheaper,I have had good luck with Michelin.

Default Too High

So that is a high price for the 4. I will check further then. Has anyone used Tire Rack & ordered on the internet? Is it hard to get them installed then? Costs, etc. would be appreicated.

i just got the OEM tires from costco. the 18" michelin energy mxv4. the total cost, with road hazard and 7.75% sales tax and the promo costco was running ($60 off), was $723.66. i love the michelins. my first set lasted more than 50k, i prob could have done a little more, but wanted to take advantage of the deal.

I used the Tirerack price as a guide and was pleased to see it was cheaper at Sam's.I did make a couple calls to Tireracks local installer list and got the feeling they would rather not have you "bring the steak to the resturant".They quoted me 25 per tire to install plus more for valves and getting rid of old tires.I must say buying tires retail is a PIA,you have to ask price, then how much to install, then valves, then to get rid of tires to get them to give you the whole deal without pulling it out of them is a poor way to do business.
Get the Michelins xfirechief they last much longer and come out to be a better deal in the long run.You can check tireracks prices on line then go find a Sams or Costco or BJ's and they will probably be cheaper, and certianly easier. With the 17's they may even have them in stock.
I got the email that the tires where in,3 days since I ordered them online, going Thursday morn and get them mounted then send off the rebate and see if I can get the extra $50.00 off and beat that deal you got lexuslover of course we have no sales tax here in NH (or income tax !) so I have a head start
