Question Horn stopped working. Any ideas?

After Italy's World Cup win yesterday and gallavanting with my RX then blowing the horn repeatedly for an hour, the horn died.

Any ideas? Fuse? Horn? Where to look?

Thanks

Well, of course, horn blowing for an hour is on the list of approved uses for auto horns. Check the proper fuse (look in your owner's manual for that one) and if the fuse is good, try removing the horn and putting a multimeter on the wires to the horn. Then, have a helper push the horn area while you look for DC voltage to the multimeter. Good volts = juice to the horn and probably a bad horn.

Next time, get an air horn powered by compressed gas.

Thanks Gary for the info. Also. I'll get the explicit horn for the 2008 Worldcup.

Nahh... Remember, It's Italy that played for the World Cup win and a couple weeks back tied with USA... Canada doesn't have good enough players for soccer and hence no team... hockey, that's another story.

Default How do I pull out a fuse?

Trying to pull out the horn fuse. It appears to be stuck or I have the wrong technique. Any ideas?

Is the security horn different from the regular horn or it is a dual purpose horn.

Oh, my God. It is so annoying to walk through a parking lot and have those car horns going off all over the place signaling lock and unlock. Far too loud and not dignified at all, and I think somebody is going to hit me.

These are cheap cars that use the car horn for this signal, despite the fact that it's too loud. I think all Lexus models, and most other "luxury" cars, use a different device for this signal that is more of an electronic beep.

It's only considerate.
