I have noticed that some of the Toyota nav systems have a place for scheduled maintenance. I am assuming that the Lexus also has this. Does anyone use it? Do you for example program oil change every 5000 miles and it alerts you when it has been 5000 miles?? I have never seen it discussed on this forum.

 

The Lexus NAV systems do have that reminder function, at least in the Gen 2 and Gen 3 systems I have in my car. Usually I set a reminder for an oil change when I first get the car and am playing around with the system and the car and learning how things work. You will get a reminder on the screen in accordance with your settings.

After that, I just don't spend that kind of time on that kind of detail. If I set reminders for everything on all the various calendars in my Computer, in Outlook, on my Cell Phone, on my iPod and on my cars also, I would not have any time left to take care of what I'm being reminded about.

I might be a nice feature to use if you are not the primary driver of the car in question.

 

My Lexus dealer calls me when it is time and follows up with a letter. I hate tracking this stuff. He follows up on the mileage and time so I don't have to.
