Default RX350 "Check Air Conditioning" Message

I just purchased a new RX350 last week and noticed that the message "Check Air Conditioning" occationally appears at the top of the Nav screen when I start the ignition. The message pops up randomly, but the times it has appeared, it does so only immediately after I start up the vehicle. It goes away if I turn off the AC and turn it back on, and the AC appears to work fine.

I can't figure out why this message appears. Is this normal or is it telling me that something is wrong with the AC system in my new RX350?

Thanks,
Mike

This happens sometimes in our GX470, I asked the dealer and they said that it means that the cabin air filter needs replacement. I highly doubt that the filter needs replacement on a new car so I would think that you have a bad sensor?

Just saw the "check air conditioning" message on my Nav screen for the first time today. I have 3600 miles on an RX350 purchased on 3-5. Turning it off and back on again corrected the problem...did not see it on the only restart I did.

Heading to the dealer for other maintenance tomorrow....I will see what new information or insight they have on this.

I also checked with my dealer, and he stated this is a known software bug. He said a notification would be sent out to owners once a fix is found.

We shall see. . . .

We are looking at a RX350 with Nav. Does this defect affect functionality - i.e, does the AC still work and the Nav when this happens or do you have to keep resetting the system?

Software bugs! These vehicles are becoming like Windows.

The "Check Air Conditioning" message only shows up when the car is starting up. We have to turn the AC off than on again to start the fan. Right now it a nuissance, but eventually I want it fixed. I'll give the dealer a couple of more weeks before I bring it in.
