so here was my transmission issue ... drive up to say 45 mph and then let go of the gas pedal ... cyclic sound of thunk thunk thunk ...
took it to the dealership and they couldn't figure it out at first. Thought it was the axle, front differential, or transmission. 5 business days later and as of about 15 mins ago, they decided the transmission and are replacing it.
any others with this issues?
can't say i'm happy about this ... although a car is a car ... you expect a higher level of quality from Lexus ... hopefully its just a needle and a hay stack and my next 50k will be uneventful.

Just wondering....where was your Rx330 manufacture in? Japan or Canada?
So, far i'm going on 15k miles coming up soon. No problems yet. Knock on wood!
Mine was made in Japan.
I think you just got a fluke! EVERY car will have there problems wether you pay 10K or 100K for it--and thats a fact! I would not worry about it at al....
We have replaced a few of the RX330 Transmissions, japanese and canadian....nothing close to the amount of RX300 ones we have done....it happens. There is no "bigger" issue
hey ... sorry again for the slow replies. I just found the subscribe to thread which will help me to remember to come back.
yes the car is definitely North Amercian made. I'd like to believe as well that this was that "one" transmission which failed. It's a great car and I hope nothing else comes my way.
Reading the posts, I have the front end shimming when braking at 50 mph or higher so that's next on the list to fix.
Thanks for your replies and words of encouragements.
