Default Navigation Menu cheap looking

Hello guys, i just bought a 400h 2 weeks ago and decided to enter a destination for the first time today... Before when i would just see the screen it was amazing advanced looking, much superior to my LS430 (01). But when it would tell me turn, the right screen would pop up like it would in my LS. However, this is green with dark gray, rough edges, and looked extremely cheap. I believe the navigation is like in a safe mode or something because it just doesnt look that great... I'll post a photo but if any of you guys can take a photo of ur screen with the guidance screen taking up half, it will be greatly appreciated

You can change the color in the options menu, but I'm afraid the resolution looks very similar to this:

(From: http://www.lexus.com/assets/navigati.../lexus_nav.htm)

This is the way it is on the '04-'06 LS 430, SC 430, New GS, etc.

The New IS brings a huge improvement in resolution---like a laptop screen!

If you don't like the split screen, you can turn it off.

If you turn off the split screen, how will it guide you?

Like the picture shows, there is a blue line on the main map with a red dot where there is a turn. The voice, if on, will also tell you to turn. I believe it will still "ding" a couple of times ahead of the turn as well. The split screen is just a display feature.

Why not try changing the color? Maybe that'll make a difference. Also there are multiple modes, different ways of viewing split screens/multiple maps/etc. that you can get guidance on.

Otherwise, the IS is fantastic on its NAVI, the New LS gets it and the New GS 450h will have it, probably the rest of the Lexus line soon.

Does that mean the 06 RX330 will have the same screen as above mentioned? Or will it have the new IS type?

has anyone tried taking the IS350 Navi DVD and tried it on their RX330 Navi? Or is the resolution because of the screen and not software?

The resolution is because of the screen...an updated NAVI disc will only improve the database, but the screen stays the same.

I'm skeptical that the '06 RX will have the New IS version, as it seems Lexus is updating the models with the Gen5 NAVI with new model introductions...New IS, New LS...GS 450h. Maybe RX 350...?

yes, I did confirm that with my local lexus dealer. RX330 will not have Gen5, they MAY have it second half of the year. And I did see on a website that RX350 will have the Gen5 navi as well.
