I am putting together some gear to add some extra bass to my soon to be delivered 330 with Mark Levinson. My question is, is there any pre-amp outputs anywhere in the vehicle so an amp can be added without splicing?
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks.

good question. my wife and I are looking to pick up our RX330 with the ML system. If it is anything like our IS, I would say t-tap into the signal from the head unit to the amp with a hi to lo converter. I did this on my IS and have no complaints.
on is300.net, there is even someone who has added the RCA outputs to the stock amp. I dunno if I feel like attempting that with the RX just yet.

let us know how it goes

I've done other cars of mine before with separate amped systems where I too tapped off the decks signal before the amp. I've either used a line output convertor if needed, or simply added RCA type connectors. I don't recomend adding an LOC or RCA type output directly after the amp simply because of the amp fails, you loose your signal. If the headunit fails, you still loose your signal, so you might as well eliminate one potential problem source.
Well, after doing a bit more research it sounds like there is a digital link from the HU to the AMP in the ML. So, it seems that the only way to do it is to use a LOC AFTER the amp.
I have ordered a PG X400.1 amp and X12D4 sub as well. At this point the only real concern I have is the wattage coming from the amp to the speakers and any delay that may be created with the DSP system. I have ordered a Hitron HLC70 Hi-Lo Adaptor which is rated for up to 50 watts on the input so I hope that will do. I think I am going to pull off of the rears (left and right) but am not certain yet since there may be less delay on the front channels.
My RX is scheduled to arrive on the 27th and I should have all my add ons delivered before that so I am hoping to have the ampsub installed in a week or so.
Now I'm actually kind of impressed that the ML uses a digital signal to the amp. My guess is it is not a fiber optic signal but an electrical digital coax signal. Possibly it is your standard coax connection which would make upgrading using a digital proccessor easy, or in theory you can just add a coax connection to the electical digital signal (I think) and do the same. IF that is the case, there are so many digital EQs, or other proccessors out there that accept digital inputs that this could open up a whole bunch of integration possibilities.
