Cool AT&T and Bluetooth

Hi all,

I am the proud owner (as of last Saturday) of a 2005 RX330. I currently have AT&T cell phone service and I'd like to keep them because of the corporate discounts I receive.

Now, when I go to lexus.letstalk.com, they only have 2 phones listed for AT&T: Nokia 6820 and Nokia 6620.

My questions:
- Does anyone else have AT&T and a bluetooth phone that connects to the '05 RX330? If so, what model phone are you using?
- If you *do* have the 6820, how well does it work?
- Other than the 2 listed on Letstalk, are there any other AT&T BT phones you know of that will work with the RX330? (I called Letstalk to find out, but phew! What a moron I got on the phone! She thought that "RX330" was a phone model. Sheesh!)

Thanks!
Phyl

Really? That's great. On this website: the bluetooth car weblog, that particular question hadn't been answered yet. Thanks for the info!

Any other people have other phones and a AT&T account that seem to work? My problem is this great corporate discount ... I get 50% off most phone models (unfortunately, the Treo 650 is not one of them), so I'm looking for AT&T phones that fit the bill. My corporate discount doesn't transfer to Cingular

Thanks!

I downloaded the carkit update from PalmOne and installed it, and followed the pairing instructions. It took a few attempts, but finally paired, and now connects in a few seconds every time the car is started. It'll even connect when the car is started in the garage, with the phone on my kitchen table about 12 vertical feet away.

Please do post what you find out, jerrygs400. jayskinner's experience makes me want to consider upgrading to the 650 ...

jayskinner: what carrier do you have? AT&T, Cingular, Sprint, Verizon? If Sprint or Verizon, their 650 models are different than AT&T and Cingular ... so I thought I'd check!

thanks,
Phyl

I use the Treo 650 with my new '05 GX470 and it works great!

I recommend that you follow palm one's instructions EXACTLY! I had trouble at first, until I realized that the phone part of the Treo is supposed to be OFF until the instructions tell you to turn it on. Also, you have to dial a call at the end (again, per palm one's instructions). Make sure you install the car kit from palmone.com like jayskinner said, and print out those installation instructions!

has anyone had success with the GSM version Treo 650? As stated above Letstalk says it will not work, but this may be because they do not have the GSM 650.
