Default 330 Rear Spoiler

Just noticed that where the spoiler & glass meet, right side of the spoiler stop lamp, there's a piece of sponge coming out. Anyone else with this problem? Dealer will take it apart when they're also fixing the tranny clunking.

Don't see it on mine but would guess it is some type of insulation/sound deadening material. It appears Lexus threw these vehicles out to the market as fast as they could to get the sales going.

Just look @ the # of TSB out for the 04 RX and I'm very unhappy with mine.

Technical service bulletins. Steps to correct manufacturer known problems without initiating a full blown recall.

There are quite a few TSB's; I don't recall having even one on my '01 IS. Not too sure if another Lexus will replace my '04 RX

Did you ever get this checked by the dealer? What did they do to remedy the problem? I noticed this same problem on my sisters RX330 the last time I detailed it for her, only her spoiler had the trim coming out on both sides of the stop lamp. It seems like it may be double-sided mounting tape. I told her to tell the dealer the next time she took it in for service but she forgot to tell my bro'-in-law and it never got checked. I think he knows about the problem now but he is not too much of a car enthusiast so if it's running fine then he doesn't worry too much about the aesthetics of the vehicle. I think I'm more worried about the problem than he is and he owns the damn thing

I have the same problem. Dealer actually had to order a whole new spoiler because the bolts on the old one were stripped when they tried to replace the insulation. They just received it so I'll be taking it in next week.

The same thing is happening to mine. It appears to be double sided tape. I am going to bring it up to Lexus and see if they are going to fix it for me....well they better since it is still under warranty.

To be honest, fitment and finish could have been alot better for the RX330 imo. I should've bought mine from japan.

The TSIB that's being referenced - BO010-03 - is about spoiler interference with the body (i.e., rubbing the body and squeaking) when the back door is opened. It was issued for the first 40,000 units made in Japan for 2004.

I'm sure that Lexus dealers don't need a TSIB for everything in order to make it right. If there's tape or something coming out of the spoiler or it's not on right, they should fix it regardless.
