that dash rattle seems to be a big problem, i've used several rx330 loaners, and they all have something rattling in the dash area! even the one that only had 150 miles on it had a rattle!

How have you used several RX330 loaners? Are you having issues with your GX470 already? I really find that hard to believe because most Lexus dealers are not allowed to loan vehicles to kids under 21, not even 18 year olds are supposed to drive them when their parents bring it in for service because of insurance liability issues. So I dunno about that one.
On another note my parents bought a new 04 RX330 2 weeks ago and have over 2300 miles on it with no dash rattle. About the time they picked up their 04 RX from Longo, 3 days later, I took in my 04 IS300 for it's 30k service. Longo provided me a new MSM 04 RX330 (w/Premium Package - Standard Lexus loaner issued vehicle) w/34 miles on the ODO. I had it for 3 days since my IS was in for warranty repairs. When I took the loaner back in those 3 days, I racked 500 miles. The only rattle i observed was from the rear because the middle seatback was not properly fastened into place.

It would be a Toyota/Lexus product if the dash didn't rattle. We have had three different Toyota Avalon's and now have two Lexus vehicles, RX300 and ES300, and all have had rattles of some sort or another.
The Avalon's won first place prize over all other brand of cars for rattles. Toyota/Lexus hasn't learned to build a car without rattles. They could take lessons from Ford, Chevrolet, etc., on how to eliminate them.
Has anyone who has had the rattle fixed or attempted to be fixed by removing the dashboard had any problems with damage, scratches, etc. or new noises pop up from the removal and repair?
Guess what? It has been cold here in Wisc. in the AM & the rattle has returned. I will tell the dealer but that is about all as I just don't believe they have a fix for this problem. At least we had a rattle free summer.
our first lexus and a dash rattle. and now they dont want to help. dont sound good for us. ours sorta comes and goes. not sure why. doesnt seem to be connected to temp. andy
Why would we purchase another LEXUS? We had a FORD TAURUS with a dash rattle too but we paid 1/2 of what the RX 330 costs. The reason we got rid of the FORD was because of the rattle.
What about the ACCURA's. Any rattles with them??

techlover, it is really unbelievable that rattles would be a problem with all the experience they had with the early 300 models that had a lot of rattles. Wow! Glovebox was a bad one they had a really hard time fixing, numerous TSBs on that as I recall. The 330 I test drove for 10 minutes was fine, but it usually takes a certain type of road imperfection to set the rattles off.
My '03 is a little better but in the cold last year I had some problems I need to get fixed this year. Mechanically though both have been p e r f ect.

It has gotten cold in Chicago, and my dash rattles have crept back in (glove box, middle of the dash, and a popping noise where the dash meets the A-pillar). I also now have a buzzing noise coming from the driver’s side door. It goes away if I place my arm on the door armrest and place it there firmly. Could it be the leather pads rubbing up against each other? Any solution for this?

Same here. The dash rattle occured a few weeks ago when the temps got down around 40 degrees. The dash "popping" noise is independent of temperature. The rattle goes away once the interior is warmed up, but th the "popping" noise is always there.
I have the rattle only in the winter. Absolutely no noise in summer, but very aggravating now. Seems to come from the right center of the dash. My vehicle is a 2004, purchased in July 03. It was built in Japan. The dealer has made one attempt to repair without success. I thought I was the only one with this problem.and thius appreciate this thread. I will try the push on the bottom of the windshield before taking it in again.
