Tpms light flashing fast-nonstop-help
Hello, I recently bought 4 new tires for 2009 lexus rx 350, 2 of the sensors were read as bad, therefore, I replaced all 5 at the same time. This is where the trouble started. I bought the tires and sensors at costco. They did not install the sensors correctly; I had a blinking tpms then a solid tpms on dash. I took it back to Costco and they could not get the tpms to work. The costco employee tried to say it was my car and its old. (insert eye roll) I took the car to a different mechanic and asked him to see if he could fix the tpms malfunction. NOTE- the sensors installed from Costco are REDI-sensors 7007hp, The new mechanic said his tool couldn't read the sensors, but he could see they were there. Well, after that mechanic was done with it, the TPMS light is flashing very very fast nonstop. Took it to a 3rd shop, this mechanic said he was confident he could fix the situation. He said each sensor IDS had to be individually entered. Car was there 5 hours, and he said he ran out of time and couldn't fix it completely but to bring it back. Third mechanic said he got the IDs installed and his tool could see the tires and pressure, but he wasn't able to stop the CONSTANT FAST BLINKING until he had more time to troubleshoot. I am supposed to bring it back (he didn't charge me yet) but now I don't know if he can truly fix it. I don't know what to do. Third mechanic said he's never seen a TPMS light flash so fast like that. I think the second mechanic did something to make the situation worse. I'm so frustrated, I just want the CONSTANT FLASHING TO STOP.
I read on here, I could do a hard reset by disconnecting the positive battery cable for 30 minutes to clear the vehicles memory and see if light resets???? Im afraid to do anything and Im afraid of more time wasted at the 3rd mechanic to find he cant fix it and also charge me for the time. What should I do???

What city/ state are you in?
Also lots of techs forget to check and see if you have the 2nd set of wheels button under your passenger side dashboard. That button needs to be clicked to the out position if they set the ID’s under the first set button.

I agree there is merit in TPMS. However after some time, it becomes a burden to maintain it. Us older folks relied on common sense and due diligence, worked and continues to save us misery. FWIW.
