My 2009 RX 350 got clipped Tonight while I was parked delivering food. It was a hit & run, tow driver said besides needing new bumper, needs a shock tower and sway bar.
I have full coverage including uninsured motorist. I just bought car Friday, still has temp tags.
Anyone know about what repair company might charge to fix it? See photos
hard to tell from the picture but is the rear wheel straight? if it's bent you have to see what suspension components got tweaked... cosmetically it's just bumper and lower light... you can probably get a used bumper and light off ebay.. the parking sensor looks fine... the suspension components might be the more expensive stuff...

That's what I thought. Looks like a lot of suspension damage, and if so then maybe serious sub-frame damage also. Maybe it's not and it's just the angle,
IsTow driver said Shock tower bent and sway bar. Wheel bent slightly outwards. I have full coverage insurance through state farm, it was a hit & run accident.
How much do you all think it would cost to fix those 3 things?
I have attached some underneath car photos of damaged area.
Doesn't any body repair people or insurance agents subscribe to this forum? Surely some own 2nd gen RX 350 cars?
I'm pretty sure since my car is covered under insurance they will install a new bumper, anyone have any idea what the cost is? The repair shop that has my car is backed up so who knows how long beforevi get estimate or repairs even begin. They told me two weeks but past reviews say their really slow!
My 2007 Lexus ES 350 (163,000 miles) was hit by another hit & run driver October 13 and was totaled by state farm just from lower quarter panel damage and needed a new bumper. Value according to state farm was $8,800
You have the right to demand the shop use only OEM parts, they may use either "used" or chinese parts if not specified by customer
Any estimate exceeding 70% of the value of the car they usually total it (each ins co varies bu that is a good rule of thumb), seeing how your rear wheel is now off it will likely be totalled, the bumper parts and labor alone will exceed $1500. PDR, paint prep, painting.blending of that tiny dent in lower rear panel will be over $1000 could be >$2000 then you still have the suspension issues to get bid out. If you want it totalled you can certainly influence their decision (I did so when I crashed my M3 using AAA insuranc they did not want it totalled in the end I got $5K more than I paid for it months earlier). A sharp DIY'er cold fix all that easily for well under $1000
IF they total it they will usually come to you with a "stupid number" as is common with all insurance co's/attorney's, etc. They know most people are not willing to question or challenge a big company. Do your homework to see what the similar cars are listed for on cars.com, Autotrader you don't have to accept the forst number thrown at you.
Go to wherever the car is now and take anything/everything out of it (paperwork, CD's, etc. Things disappear at repair shops adn if they total it you may not get the chance to clean it out
Auto repair recommendations - you have the right to several different repait shops choose wisely. Look up and study reviews - most people have zero clue as to what constitutes "good work". Timing - most all repair shops today (be them auto body or maintenace) are backed up badly and don't care about your waiting or even quality of repair. Whatever you do DON'T use Caliber Collision, they're processing centers known for horrific quality
You're in control never forget that, insurnace co's and shops are now accustom to pushing people around because they allow it. Again, do your homework
I did take it to Caliber here in Richmond, their reviews were the best out of all the other local shops. My last car they estimated 3 weeks ago was totaled by stare farm using their estimate on my 2007 ES 350.
I tried negotiating with state farm when my ES 350 was totaled by them and they said basically take it or leave it! They don't negotiate I was told by claims.
I was told by claims I was given "Actual Cash Value" of my 2007 ES 350 of $8800 it was in fair condition with 163,000 miles.
