Center Cluster Integration Panel Question
Hello, New to the forum and hoping you can give me some assistance.
The climate control and radio controls quit working on my elderly friends 2002 RX300. She took it to Precision Tune who works on Lexus's in her area and they ran diagnostics on her system and said the Integration panel went out. I spoke with them to confirm that they had checked fuses, connections, etc. and were sure of their diagnosis. They confirmed that they had and could see in the diagnostics that data was flowing into the component, but not out indicating that it had failed. (she has nearly 200k on the car and says it quit working not long after hitting a pot hole)
The part number from the part in her car is 84010-48040-E0 (Sandalwood trim w/ navigation system). I'm having a hard time finding a replacement (Dealers want $1600 for the part) One guy on ebay sold me one, then never delivered, yada yada yada...
I found a 2002 RX300 with the same VIN (different serial) in my local junkyard, but the integration panel does not have the navigation system component on it. Would be part number 84010-48031-E0,
My question: Will the non-nav system panel work in her car with the nav system just left unplugged? Obviously she loses the nav system function, but I would think it should restore her radio and climate controls. And they are more readily available for less $$.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Doug

Welcome to Club Lexus!
I'm sorry but looking at the schematics it looks to me to require some reverse engineering to make it work as they wire up differently for the HVAC controls and other stuff best I can tell at a quick glance.
Deleting the Nav and using a Non-Nav unit can probably be done because I did it for the RX330 but I haven't done it for the RX300 so hopefully somebody knows.

Thanks for looking at that. I can tell from the pictures of the non-nav and nav varieties that the actual radio unit itself is different.
The non-nav version has a 'PN' sticker (Panasonic?) and the nav version has a 'WY' sticker (??) along with different plug configurations so to do a straight replacement of one complete center bezel for another would require some re-pinning just due to that.
Nav version 84010-48040
Non-Nav version 84010-48031
Does anybody know if the integration control board (behind the radio) is the same between the two versions? It's a component of the larger assembly. I believe the part number is 655-51169 and isn't sold separately.
If it is the same between the two versions, then just swapping out that component should fix the problem as the existing radio, display, gps unit were all working fine before this.
Trying to do this from 1000 miles away and get her the right part without actually seeing it and hoping the guy at the shop is wiling to swap out parts is challenging.
Thanks,
Doug

Some of the differences can be discovered by reading the posts on conversion from Non-nav to Nav. You can PM the member(s) who have done the conversion and they may have parts lying around.

I had the luxury of having the car at my house so I can see everything and extensive wiring manuals from Lexus to trace everything out and reverse engineer it.
I broke down and bought an exact replacement on line. Should I just be able to plug the replacement parts in (display, radio, GPS, integration cluster) and it should work?
I don't need to do any system hocus pocus with an expensive diagnostic tool to get the replacement components to talk to each other on the data bus should I?
Thanks,
Doug

No system hocus pocus necessary, I hope...

I removed and replaced my entire unit when painting the face of the radio and i did not even bother disconnecting the battery.
Everything came back up no issue. It could be wise to disconnect the battery, I just took the risk I guess.
