Default Tickety-tickety...

I have a 2000 RX300, lovin' it...especially the stereo system (musician/music collector)...great sound! However...
It has the above noise from under the fuse/relay box under the hood, on the driver's side. I pulled the fuse or relay that vibrated, no stop in sound.
Any ideas? How much of a job is it?

Try the mode **** and that should take it out of Auto mode. The air mode servo makes tickets tic sound as it changes the air flow direction. The down side is that you may like to change the mode with seasons from face level to feet.

Thanks for the reply...speaking of which (the other question)...
There's a similar, but more random tick or scratching sound in the dash between the center display and the glovebox...it is NOT the CD player, as I took the cassette out of the device...it occurred when I was running the car to recharge the battery. As I mentioned, it was a recurring issue.

That's what that person was referring to, actually, I'm pretty sure. I've heard it referred to as multiple things - air mode servo, blend door actuator, etc. My understanding is that, over time, it collects dust and grime and the lubrication becomes ineffective, so it can't switch smoothly. Try putting the mode to feet mode and then to upper mode; chances are that'll set it off. Mine I guess progressed to a dramatic "whaaarrrrr" noise behind the dash over time. I just pretend it's my car saying "hi". It can be cleaned easily; there's a thread if you google how to fix/clean it.

Test as I suggested to see if the noise goes away. If it does not, then we will keep hunting.
