Hello and hoping someone can help me out. Recently my 2001 RX300 Display screen, climate controls, daytime running lights and power locks have all stopped working at the same time after installing a new battery. I'm hoping it is just a bad fuse, but could anyone help me out with narrowing down which fuses I should be looking at? I recently got the car from my grandmother and do no have the owner's manual, and the internet hasn't been very helpful with figuring out that kind of information.
Please contact Lexus corp to get a copy of owner's manual. Also check out our sticky threads with RX300 info .. there may be a link for a soft copy. If I happen to run across it, I will post it here.
If the battery was hooked up wrong [swapped terminals ... even for an instant] you may have blown a larger fuse. Smaller [sub-circuit] fuses are tucked behind the coin box ... left knee of the driver and the major fuses are in the engine bay ... short distance from the battery ... over the driver side front wheel well. A few of the major fuses are bolted in ... you have to remove the fuse box to gain access.
Purchase a test light ... and simply go over the fuses. Most of the things work with the key in the run position. If the test light lights up on only one side [two terminals of the fuse] that fuse is popped. If both sides do not light up, then go back to the main fuse.
I hope your problem is simple, else you will need the circuit/wiring diagram to trace.
The very first thing I would suspect is a bad ground for that system. It could be a fuse but if they are all ok, then checking your harness and finding where the ground is would be the next step. Do you have an OBD2 scanner that can scan for codes? It would be worth scanning all codes to see what pops up.

Look under the hood fuse boxes and you will see the bad fuse link broken. Or go online and find a maintenance manual for Hayes !! Good Luck, EJ Dossary, EE

Happened to me once, well my case was tinkering with the radio / climate control for new speaker wires. For me, i just remove battery for 10 seconds then tighten it back right after. In my case, it doesn't work so i remove the radio again and unplug and replug all the connectors then unplug replug the battery again. Works for me at least. You can find on youtube how to remove the radio, the "wood" panel clips are from steel i think, so its a bit snippy snappy to remove.
Edit: I must add that there is another fuse panel behind the coin/money drawer or something, I don't know what it is called. Very easy to remove.
Good luck!

2002 RX300 - Climate Controls Out, Auto Locks Out, Display Out
Just as described by many on this blog. Was a simple 15 amp fuse. Started the car last week thinking that my auto-door locks had just died - as the fob beeped and it sounded like the locks had opened but none of the side doors had (only the trunk hatch still operated). Luckily, there is the old manual key. Started the car fine but the central climate display lit up but had no writing/text. AC/heater and fan did not work. Auto door locks made not a sound. CD player worked fine though - and the cigarette lighter still lit up. The thermostat temperature gauge was also dead. Looked at a few other fuses but eventually after replacing the CIG fuse everything came back to life. Awesome.
