Default Spark plug change. How much?

2003 RX300, 120K. Dealer wants $810 parts and labor to change spark plugs. WTF?

Read the DIY thread. If you have the right tools you can do it yourself.

Ask for labor and parts and see what is going on. Any add on service etc.

Done DIY twice, 45 min each time, not removing intake, Cost - plugs plus VERY scratched forearms. Lots of language.

It's an absolute b_tch to change those rear plugs! The RX300 is basically a Toyota Highlander - I took mine to the local Toyota dealer and was charged $385.

Ukrkoz is WAY faster than I am. I got the job done, but yes, it's hard to reach the rear plugs, especially that middle one!

It is a royal PITA but way cheaper to DIY. I cannot believe the dealer is charging you that much.

Stealership wants to take you for a ride. Around $300 for parts and labor is about the right. Or just take it a independent shop and have them do it, bring them parts if you want to save more.
