Spark plugs question
That is a ton. You can do this yourself in a matter of hours. But otherwise, I just got mine done on my 350 and it was around 250$ they took off an hour worth of labor since things were taken apart already because they were doing a TSB at that time. How many miles?
Most of the time, they dont accept outside parts, even if they are OEMs. Call Toyota dealer, ask for quote with/out parts. Most of the time, they are cheaper than Lexus dealers. My quote was $240 w/o parts. I ended up replaced them myself. Not hard, but tedious.
I was quoted $320 for the spark plug change a few months back. I ended up buying the spark plugs off Sewell for about $100 with a few bottles of brake fluid while I was at it. I changed them out myself in about 2 hours.
Bear in mind that spark plug change on IS350s don't require upper intake manifold removal. On IS250s, it is a must, which makes it so tedious. It is something to think about if you want to do it yourself.

A forum search would answer all these questions. To answer some things from the above posts, first off the quote you received is not outrageous, it's just dealership prices. It's a few hours' worth of labor, and at $120 an hour that adds up. Plus they're probably charging $25/plug, when Sewell sells them for $13 per. I called around to 5 dealerships in my area when I was at 60k miles and they all gave me quotes right around that amount.
To prankster, you absolutely can bring parts to a dealership. I bought my plugs on Sewell and the dealership installed them with no problem or questions whatsoever. They saw they were OEM (they come in a Toyota box, have Denso and the part numbers on them, etc).
If you want to DIY, there's a thread linked to from the 2IS FAQ Sticky.
If you want the dealership to do it, have them do it at the same time as the fuel pressure sensor recall (if it hasn't been done), or the cam gear or carbon build-up TSIBs. They each require much of the same pre-work, so your labor quote should be lower. I had my dealership do the spark plug replacement at the same time as they did the cam gear TSIB, so they only charged me a half hour's labor of $57 instead of 3-4 hours' worth. Combine that with the $78 in parts ($13 for each of 6 plugs), and I spent only $135 on the whole spark plug replacement.

Not true. You dealer might have no problem with that but you cannot assume every dealer would do the same thing. I got quotes from two out of three Houston Lexus dealers, they do not accept parts not bought from them, even though they are OEMs. And I bought the plugs from Sewell.
